Welcome

Classic Homes UK Ltd was founded in 1995 and was originally managed by private care home owners in Kent. From its humble beginnings, the company now operates nationally from Leicestershire with a fast growing accredited membership of over 50 privately owned care homes across the country.

The company is recognised by the industry and associated organisations to represent total quality in care with strict criteria for accreditation and membership.

Even as far back as 1995, its founder members recognised that care standards varied considerably across the country and that registration with the local authorities was not necessarily an indication of total quality.

According to research, the public's perception is that smaller care homes are generally 'mediocre' offering limited facilities and social opportunities for residents. The research also concluded that in the absence of any comparative standard (such as the hotel industry's star system), there is inadequate information available to help people find good quality services, that promise higher standards of care in an informal, and homely environment.

The CLASSIC HOMES symbol was therefore formed to:

  • Help the public identify care homes which are assessed to exceed registration standards and offer a true 'home' for residents. It is not easy for the public to judge the quality of a home on first viewing, and therefore our assessment aims to reassure public confidence in making a better choice.

  • Create an opportunity for dedicated private care home owners to achieve and be recognised for their superior standards, with professional marketing advice, for the benefit of their business.

An accredited CLASSIC HOME maintains its independent status and individual character, and is recognised for its high care standards, offering excellent social opportunities to enhance its residents' well being and quality of life.

Enjoying companionship and personal attention from highly trained and dedicated management and staff, the resident's welfare and lifestyle is paramount to the total care home environment.

Our reputation demands that the accreditation is only awarded to like minded owners who consistently demonstrate a total commitment to the welfare of their residents.

Each home must, of course, meet with statutory government standards, be well maintained, with all necessary equipment in good working order, with a full complement of staff. But it is not so much the grand building, the décor, size, beautiful gardens or 'gold taps' that will impress our highly trained assessors, but the sincere attitude, and personal attention given to each resident.

Classic Homes encourages all independent care home owners to achieve this benchmark to reassure the public of the unique qualities of the smaller, private home, and also to gain deserved recognition for their high standards achieved.

The original objectives of the CLASSIC HOMES organisation remain, but with enhanced commitment to raising care standards for the long term benefit and welfare of older and disadvantaged people in our society.

Always aiming for excellence!
